Database Task - Query Criteria

In this image you are shown every option available when setting up a Query (Saved Search). I have only bothered to explain the less obvious options.


Turning a BIG grid of info into a SMALL grid:
A way to think about the query is only showing some rows from a large table of Data so that the smaller set of info that remains can fit on a piece of paper. It is a smaller grid of info because you tell the Database to only look for certain info.

Starting the Database Task - Database CSV import

Open Access
Name Database - Click CREATE
Click External Data
Click Text File (a CSV is a text file where info is split with commas)
Find CSV file - Click OK
IMPORT 2 / 4 = NEXT-TICK-NEXT-TICK-NEXT-FINISH
Double Click the NEW TABLE (e.g. J8Prods)
Click HOME - Click VIEW - CLick Design View
Copy Data Types from Exam paper (e.g. Currency, Boolean = YES/NO)
PRINT SCREEN you Data Types for the examiner (Paste into WORD to Print)

IGCSE Files - Explained!

IGCSE students must have downloaded all these files from the FILES tab at the top of this blog. The Syllabus contains everything you need to know and be able to do for the exams. All Paper 1s is all the Theory exams (Written) since 2006. You can use the search option on the PDF to look at questions for a particular topic.All Paper 2s is all the practical tasks since 2006 normally regarding WORD, ACCESS & EMAIL.All Paper 3s is practical tasks on WEBSITES, EXCEL & POWERPOINT. For both Paper 2s and Paper 3s you also need to download the blue ZIP folders of all the files to do the exams. You need to UNZIP the ZIP folder into a normal folder.
