The previous editors of Engadget, who have just left: Joshua Topolsky, Nilay Patel, Paul Miller have teamed up with SB Nation, a sports blog/news website to create a new technology blog. It will compete with their previous employer's AOL with Engadget.com. There is a very interesting article in the New York Times that describes this, the importance of the changing world and adapting to it, and the problems of buying up brands and adapting them to their mission i.e The AOL Way.
